Four color, cmyk process print |
While
screenprinting has long been known for it's ability to produce bold, colorful images sometimes your designs require a more detailed, photographic look. For this we turn to
four color process printing and
cmyk image separation. The original image is separated into
Cyan,
Magenta,
Yellow, and black, with black representing the "
Key" color to which the rest are aligned. This separation process creates small dots of color, called halftones, to allow the precise amount of
ink per color to be
printed to accurately reproduce the original color range. If you're a fan of classic comic books or use a modern inkjet printer you've seen this process in action and may not have even realized it.
